A good day’s ploughing, with plenty of spectators and supporters for the European Vintage, Scottish and Five Nations competitors.  Rain in the morning turned into showers in the afternoon.  Forecast for Sunday cool and sunny. Friday evening, 22nd October

A busy day on site, with final preparations taking place. European Vintage ploughing competitors had their practice day today, which went well.  Many trade stands arrived, along with catering and bar, which were up and running and serving by lunchtime until late into the evening. Welcome reception at Buccleuch Arms Hotel last night – hotel provided an excellent meal and all competitors, friends and organisers had a very enjoyable evening. The site at Upper Nisbet, Jedburgh, by kind permission of Robert Neill and Partners, is a light sandy soil.  The large rolling fields offer excellent views for spectators.

The Scottish Ploughing Association looks forward to welcoming vintage competitors from Europe for the 13th European Vintage Ploughing Championships. Entries have been received from Belgium, England, Germany, Isle of Man, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Republic of Irland, Scotland and Wales.
